After I completed my primary school education I was posted to Western College Onike; I probably went to school there for three days. On the third day, my mom came to deliver my school books which was compulsory for every JSS 1 student to purchase. Unfortunately there were no chairs or benches in the class so she found me sitting on the floor with some other students. “NO, NO, NO” she yelled, “her son wasn’t going to such a school, not when she is still alive”. That night, I basically witnessed her put up a fight with my dad and trust the women to always win their battles. I was immediately withdrawn from Western College and the next morning my Dad took me to St. Finbarr’s College to seek for my admission.
